About the Project

本計畫為林祐聖自 2019 年啟動之《公路駐村計畫 (CAR ARTIST VILLAGE)》系列的延伸與深化實踐 。

我們主動介入高度功能性的都市交通系統，將城市中最令人焦躁、低效的「塞車車陣」，轉化為另類的藝術駐村場域 。本計畫重新思考藝術駐村必須具備「定著性」的傳統定義。並利用這個微型的移動場域，與藝術家們一起反思藝術機構的當代意義。

本次計畫「駐村」的起始與終結完全由交通狀態決定 。車輛即是駐村空間，而塞車的時長即是所謂的駐村創作時間 。

藝術家是否可利用「垃圾時間」有效產出，將原本受困的被動焦慮轉化為觀察與採集的養分 ，將於同步於「不佔地方」的展覽中讓觀眾參與討論。

This project serves as an extension and deepened practice of the CAR ARTIST VILLAGE series, initiated by Lin Yu-Sheng in 2019.

We proactively intervene in the highly functional urban traffic system, transforming the city's most frustrating and inefficient "traffic jams" into alternative artist residency sites. This project rethinks the traditional definition of an artist residency, which typically requires a sense of "fixity." Furthermore, by utilizing this micro-mobile site, we invite artists to collectively reflect on the contemporary significance of art institutions.

In this iteration, the beginning and end of the "residency" are entirely dictated by traffic conditions. The vehicle itself serves as the residency space, and the duration of the traffic jam constitutes the designated time for creative production.

Whether artists can effectively generate output during this "garbage time"—transforming the passive anxiety of confinement into nourishment for observation and collection—will be opened up for audience discussion in the concurrent exhibition at "Taking No Room" .
